Money Advice Service Consultation on Commissioning Debt Advice Services

Posted on by Matthew

Existing agreements for delivering debt advice across England and Wales come to an end in March 2018. In the consultation document MAS has identified six commissioning intentions for advice services over the next five years:

  1. Identify and target priority groups within the over-indebted population
  2. Deliver debt advice and money guidance services in a blended fashion, in line with needs
  3. Develop a clear view of the client from access through to outcome
  4. Establish a clear workforce strategy for MAS funded advisers
  5. Embed crisis debt advice within a network of holistic support
  6. Build services that make the best possible use of existing and emerging technologies

MAS hopes that the consultation will get responses from a range of different people and organisations to help shape the Commissioning intentions set out above, which will be important in future commissioning decisions by MAS (and later the Single Financial Guidance Body, which will replace MAS in this role in late 2018).

If you would like to respond to the consultation – the document can be found here.
